Mizzou Softball opens NCAA Regional play Friday afternoon

Mizzou Softball opens NCAA Regional play Friday afternoon when it faces Missouri State. MU will host a regional round this year. It is the second consecutive season that the Tigers are playing host. Last season, Mizzou won its regional bracket and then hosted the Super Regional round, where it fell short of the College World Series. After a sluggish stretch in the middle of the season, Missouri found its form on offense and at the circle and rattled off 11 wins in their last 14 games, including three wins at the SEC Tournament, where it finished as the runner up. Mizzou wrapped up the 2022 regular season with a 36-20 record and above .500 in conference play. The Tigers and Lady Bears meet at 1:00 PM on Friday to open NCAA Regional play.
