According to a post yesterday on the Chillicothe R-2 Schools website, the Chillicothe R-II Board of Education has offered a contract to Brian Sherrow to be the next Assistant Superintendent beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. The Board took this action during a special May 12, 2022 executive session. Mr. Sherrow comes to the District from Marceline, where he has served as Superintendent of Schools since July 2018. Prior to that, Mr. Sherrow was the principal of Chillicothe High School for seven years. Before his tenure at Chillicothe High School, he served as high school principal at Marceline. He is a 1986 Chillicothe High School graduate. Mr. Sherrow earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the Missouri Western State College in 2002, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from William Woods University in 2006; and received a Specialist of Education Degree from William Woods University in 2011. Dan Wiebers, Chillicothe R-II Superintendent, stated, “I am pleased that Mr. Brian Sherrow has accepted the Assistant Superintendent’s position. His familiarity with the Chillicothe community and the school system will make for an easy transition. I look forward to working with him.” Mr. Sherrow will be replacing Dr. Zach McMains who has served as the Assistant Superintendent since the 2018 school year. “The district appreciates the dedication and support that Dr. McMains has provided the staff of the Chillicothe R-II School District. He will be missed when he begins working in his new capacity as an assistant superintendent in the Kearney School District,” Dan Wiebers said.
