Marceline baseball news from last night’s game

Last night at Lions Field in Marceline, the Marceline Tigers baseball team came from 5 runs down to beat Schuyler County 9-5. Marceline starting pitcher Hunter Quinn gave up 5 runs on 3 hits in the top of the first but threw shutout baseball until Mason Crossland came on to get the final out in the 7th. Tanner Sayre hit a go-ahead 3 run homer in the third and Calvin Cathey blasted a 2 run homer give the Tigers some breathing room. Cathey and Sayre each scored 3 runs for the Tigers who are now 5-4 on the season. Schuyler County drops to 3-3. Marceline travels to Salisbury on Thursday  for Varsity and JV games starting at 5:00. The varsity game will be heard on KDWD.
