A Unionville woman was killed in a head-on crash, just before 9 o’clock Saturday night on 175th Street, one mile west of Unionville. The Highway Patrol said the woman killed was 20 year old Holly Hydom of Unionville whose SUV was hit head-on by a pickup driven by a 14 year old male of Unionville. Investigators say a Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy had attempted to pull over the pickup truck for a traffic stop and the juvenile refused to stop and fled. It was during the pursuit the 14 year old crossed the center of 175th Street and collided head-on with the SUV. Hydom was pronounced dead at the scene. The 14 year old had moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Putnam County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The case will be turned over to the Putnam County Juvenile Office once the investigation is complete.
