Russell Wilson is no longer a Seahawk. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback has been traded to Denver. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the trade. Drew Lock, who has started for the Broncos in the past, is reportedly involved in the trade. The Broncos are also sending tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick to Seattle. The Seahawks are sending Wilson and a fourth-round pick. This deal comes the day Aaron Rodgers agreed to a massive deal to return to Green Bay. Rodgers was reportedly Denver’s top choice up until recently. Wilson spent the past 10 seasons in the Pacific Northwest, racking up 37,059 yards and 292 touchdowns in 104 wins.
The news of Wilson’s trade came six years and a day after Manning retired, with an agreement by Broncos general manager George Paton to send a massive haul of players and draft picks to the Seattle Seahawks for nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson, two people familiar with the negotiations confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday. The people who commented about the move spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the blockbuster trade, which is pending Wilson passing a physical, can’t become official until the start of the new league year on March 16.
