Mizzou Wrestling and Basketball

Mizzou Wrestling clinched the Big 12 Championship on Sunday afternoon in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s the Tigers 11th conference title in a row and first Big 12 Championship in ten years. Four Mizzou Wrestlers competed for conference titles individually in their weight classes. The lone winner was Keegan O’Toole at 165 pounds. He has now won conference titles in the MAC and the Big 12. Former Hickman Kewpie Jeremiah Kent was among the three that finished in second. Allan Hart and Peyton Mocco were the other two Tigers to earn runner-up nods. Columbia native Jarrett Jacques came in fifth place at 157 pounds. In total, seven Mizzou Tigers qualified for the NCAA Championships. An award were also handed out to Tiger Coach Brian Smith. Smith won Big 12 Coach of the Year in a Big 12 Championship season.

 

 

Kobe Brown scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half when Missouri came back from an 11-point deficit to beat Georgia 79-69 in an SEC regular-season finale and snap a six-game losing streak. Javon Pickett scored all 12 of his points in the second half. Ronnie DeGray III and Jarron Coleman also had 12 points apiece for the Tigers. Braelen Bridges scored 19 points, Kario Oquendo had 17 and Aaron Cook 16 for the Bulldogs, who lost their 11th straight. Both teams head for SEC tournament in Tampa, Fla., that runs Wednesday through next Sunday. Mizzou will play Wednesday at 5.
