Last night in a game heard here on KDWD and played at Tiger Field House in Marceline, the Marceline Tigers came from behind early and pulled away in the third quarter in a 52-33 Class 3, District 16 win over South Harrison. The Tigers trailed 10-2 in the first quarter but came back to take a 21-20 lead at the half. In the third quarter the Tigers put the game away by shutting out the Bulldogs 21-0 including 12 points from Zach Niemeier. Niemeier led all scorers with 26 points. Wyatt Malloy had 11 and Will Heller scored all 10 of his points in the second half. Jad Cornett led South Harrison with 15. The 9-14 Tigers will play Carrollton on Thursday night at 7:30 at the Ketchum Center on the NCMC Campus in Trenton. Carrollton defeated Trenton last night 52-32. In the other district 16 game Hamilton beat Brookfield 54-37. They will play #1 seed Milan Thursday night at 6:00 in Trenton.
