All three top seeds advanced on the opening night of the Class 1 District 11 Tournament at La Plata High School. In the opening game third-seeded Novinger used a strong second half to dispatch sixth-seeded La Plata 57-37. Novinger improves to 16-10 on the season. La Plata finished the season 2-22. In the night cap, fourth-seeded Brashear used a dominant performance from Brandon Jochimsen as he racked up 35 points in a 72-46 win over fifth-seeded Marion County. The win was Brashear’s first in a district tournament since 2011. Marion County finished the season at 6-17. Second-seeded Atlanta rushed out to an 11-0 lead on the way to a 56-23 victory over seventh-seeded Bevier. The Hornets improve to 20-4 and have now won eleven straight games. Bevier was led by Devin Sumpter with ten points. They finish the season with a record of 8-16. Semifinals from the Class 1 District 11 boys tournament will be played Wednesday night with Brashear facing top-seeded North Shelby and Atlanta going up against Novinger.
