Mizzou Football reportedly knows how it will fill its open defensive coordinator position. On3 sports reported Monday afternoon that the Tigers are expected to promote new safeties coach Blake Baker to defensive coordinator. PowerMizzou and the St. Louis Post Dispatch added that MU is also expected to name DJ Smith as its co-defensive coordinator. This news comes after former defensive coordinator Steve Wilks accepted a job with the Carolina Panthers last week. Baker has previous experience as a defensive coordinator, having served in that role with Miami and Louisiana Tech. Smith has been the Linebackers coach for Mizzou the past two seasons
