Troopers say a Brookfield man received serious injuries Sunday afternoon around 2:10 pm at the US 36 junction at Laclede. According to the report, 18 year old Jonathan Hollon of Brookfield was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 27 year old Joshua Scearce of Linneus. The crash report indicated that Scearce was westbound and attempted to make a right hand turn at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate the turn and struck the front drivers corner of a southbound pickup driven by 54 year old David N. Williams of Brookfield. Neither driver was injured, but Hollon was transported by Linn County Ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Linn County Sheriff’s Department and Brookfield Fire Department.
