KTVO television in Kirksville reports a north Missouri woman is recovering after being shot. It happened between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday night on Highway 149 in the Connelsville area. It did not happen at a residence. Adair County Chief Deputy Jason Lene said a woman was shot once in the head area but he said her injury was not life-threatening. She was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment Wednesday night. She was released from the hospital on Thursday. Lene said this does appear to be an isolated incident, and the public is not believed to be in any danger. Right now, the motive for the shooting is unknown. The person or persons who pulled the trigger are not in custody yet, but the investigation is continuing. Authorities are not releasing the names of those involved at this time, but they do say they are from the Adair County and surrounding areas.
